Dog Joint Pain
Joint issues are something that many of us experience with age. Sometimes it’s just a little bit of stiffness in the morning, other times it’s a step beyond that into intense aches and pains. As dogs age, they also experience these pains, something we at Paws to Consider must help manage for the dogs we walk. It’s usually a loss of cartilage in their joints that causes inflammation and certain breeds are more likely to experience it than others. Unfortunately, it strikes most often in our most popular friends – labs, retrievers, great danes, german shepherds, etc. One thing you can do to help provide some relief is add certain vitamins to your pups diet. Omega 3 = a fatty acid found in some fish, and often recommended for people as well, can offer some respite. Another key is to cut down on snacks! Even one extra pound on a lot of dogs can be a big percent and if its an unnecessary pound…it might be adding stress to their joints.
